Centered Riding Clinics:with Mary Fenton , Senior (Level IV) Centered Riding Instructor/ Clinician
Open Clinic / Instructor Update Combination
Wednesday October 20 - Sunday 24 th, 2010
Held at Triple L Ranch
16206 Hwy. 108, Jamestown, California
Mary Fenton has taught classical dressage and combined training for many years both privately, and for the USPC. but currently her work is mostly with Centered Riding, Dressage & EAL (Equine Assisted Learning). Also, she taught clinics for the USET, to prepare endurance riders who were short listed for the WEG, for the Games in Holland. She taught for USPC from 1967, through 1984, and presented Centered Riding at the National PC Festival in Lexington, KY, for 3 Festivals over 6 years. She served as District Commissioner to Pony Club in 1984, and then has continued to teach for her local Pony Club. Mary has also studied Therapeutic Riding & Hippotherapy, and continues to apply these in her teachings.
Mary’s work emphasizes the positive relationship between horse and rider. She specializes in communication, and the awareness of alignment and balance. Coordination between the natural movement of the horse and the balanced movement of the rider enhances the efficiency and brilliance of the horses’ way of going and lessens fatigue in both rider and horse.

Centered Riding employs knowledge of human and horse anatomy, balance and movement. This process can help relieve tension for both rider and horse and change old habit patterns. It is a process by which body awareness, centering and imagery can aid in the recovery of injured and disabled riders and can be applied through simple, task analysis procedures.
Open Clinic. This clinic is open to all riders of any level and riding interests. May focus on a particular riding discipline, e.g. jumping, dressage, reining, driving, handicapped etc.
The CR instructor update is open to Centered Riding certified instructors of any level. (I, II, III or IV). Those interested may also participate as auditors.
Auditors participate in all aspects of clinic sessions, including mounted sessions but as observers and evaluators only.
